Partnership for better healthcare solutions
The demand for healthcare services is growing worldwide: Three of eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals are aimed at enhancing healthcare for large sections of the population. These goals can only be achieved if the public and private sector cooperate on the development of the healthcare infrastructure.
The German Healthcare Partnership is a joint initiative between the Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) with the overall goal of improving healthcare infrastructure in developing countries and emerging markets. Distinct focus is placed on a comprehensive approach involving each step along the health value chain in order to ensure sustainable high-standard hospitals and healthcare systems in partner countries of German development cooperation.
